Arrest made following fatal hit-and-run crash in OKC’s Surrey Hills

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Police arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened in the Surrey Hills neighborhood on Sunday.
Police told OKCFOX that the incident occurred around 10 a.m. in the area of Northwest 104th Street and Middlesbrough Lane.
Police said the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Deawna Jones, was arguing with a woman, identified as 39-year-old Taisha Dale. Things got heated, and police believe Jones got into her vehicle and purposely ran over Dale, and then fled the scene.
Police said Dale was rushed to a hospital, where she later died.
Officers located Jones and arrested her. She is being charged with leaving the scene of a crash and first-degree murder.
Jones previously faced a second-degree forgery charge and four DUI charges, according to court documents.
