ATV driver crashes, injures 2 near Ringwood

RINGWOOD, OK – Two people were injured in an ATV accident about five miles west of Ringwood on Wednesday, KGWA reports.
At around 3:30 a.m., Johann Joseph Stoekel, 22, crashed after taking a turn too fast. Stoekel and his passenger, Edith Renteria, 22, were thrown from the ATV during the crash. Neither of the two occupants was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Stoekel was taken by a private vehicle to Integris Bass. He was subsequently flown to St. Anthony’s Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition.
Renteria was also taken to Integris Bass. She was treated and released.
Authorities noted that there was an alcohol odor at the scene of the incident.
