Authorities identify woman killed in train accident

ENID, OK. –  Police have released the identity of a woman who was struck and killed by a train on Saturday afternoon near Enid.

The deceased was identified as 33-year-old Ashley Surrett, of Enid. According to Enid News & Eagle, the pedestrian-train accident occurred at 2:41 p.m. just east of 42nd on E. 412. Police and EMS arrived shortly after and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was apparently walking along a bridge just north of the highway when the conductor spotted her and tried to warn her before striking her.
