Auto-pedestrian crash at I-40 and Meridian under investigation

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A pedestrian sustained injuries Tuesday night in an accident along the interstate in western Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.
Shortly after 11 p.m., emergency crews responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on the overpass at I-40 and Meridian Avenue, which is west of I-44 and north of the Oklahoma River.
Thus far, police haven’t indicated if the victim was walking in the roadway or along the shoulder of the interstate when the vehicle hit them. Officials haven’t shared any details about the driver involved in the crash, but they’re not referring to the incident as a hit-and-run.
Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
No charges have been announced thus far in connection to the crash.
