Broken Arrow child struck, injured near Spring Creek Elementary

BROKEN ARROW, OK – A young girl sustained injuries Monday when a vehicle struck her in a crosswalk near the elementary school.
According to News on 6, the incident occurred in the morning before school in the 6000 block of South 3rd Street. This is near Spring Creek Elementary School and just north of Ray Harral Nature Park & Center.
Police haven’t shared any details about the vehicle involved in the crash, but they have indicated that the driver received a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a school zone.
The school district initially indicated that the victim sustained a broken leg. No confirmation has been offered regarding the extent of the girl’s injuries.
