Canadian County Sheriff Dead After Head-On Collision

A police officer died after a head-on collision, a February 15 article of 5 News Online reported.

The incident occurred in the Northwest Expressway on Friday. Canadian County sheriff’s Lt. Shirley Lanning was westbound on an unmarked police vehicle when her vehicle went in the way of oncoming traffic and crashed into another vehicle. Lanning was sent to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Police Sgt. Megan Morgan added that two occupants of the car were also sent to the hospital. Furthermore, Morgan said investigations into the crash are ongoing.
