Child pedestrian hit, critically hurt by driver off I-40 in Choctaw

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK — A child was hospitalized Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle near Interstate 40 in south Choctaw, according to KFOR.
The incident occurred off the eastbound lanes at Choctaw Road, near Pilot-Thunder Travel Plaza. It was first reported at around 6:00 p.m.
Few details have been shared at this time, but the Oklahoma City Fire Department said the child was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
It was unclear whether the driver stayed at the scene or whether any charges are expected to be filed.
