Crews respond to injury crash at NW Expy and Portland Ave

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Injuries were reported in connection to a two-vehicle collision involving an ambulance in northwest Oklahoma City Wednesday morning.
According to KOCO News 5, the accident happened before 6:40 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest Expressway and Portland Avenue, which is just northwest of INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in the Coronado Hills area.
Police say an SUV collided with an an EMSA ambulance, but they’ve not yet commented on the cause of the crash.
The SUV sustained heavy damage to its front end. It’s unclear if the ambulance was damaged in the collision.
There’s no word yet regarding the number of people hurt in the accident or the severity of the victims’ injuries.
