Crews respond to pedestrian hit-and-run on I-40 near Canute

WASHITA CO., OK – A 34-year-old man died over the weekend in an auto-pedestrian collision along the interstate in northwest Washita County, reports OKC Fox 25.
The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday along I-40 near the city of Canute, which is about 104 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.
Police say that Jacob A. Ledesma was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle on I-40.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid or to speak with authorities.
Motorists likely faced delays along I-40 in the Canute area early Saturday while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
