A pit bull in Cedar Rapids will be euthanized after a third victim suffered injuries from an aggressive attack.
The first bite attacks were reported on June 1, and involved a 7-year-old boy and his father. The young child was opening the door to a house when the pit bull charged at him, causing 10 puncture wounds, and several deep gashes. The boy’s father attempted to remove his son from the situation, and received a large injury to his left leg, that has now become infected.
Ten days after the initial attack, the female pit bull hurt another person. A 44-year-old woman was standing in her driveway when the pit bull lunged at her, breaking skin in numerous locations on her body. She was transported to a hospital, and the dog was picked up by Animal Control.
