NOBLE COUNTY, OK — A 47-year-old man died Monday night after a two-vehicle wreck that injured four children on Oklahoma Highway 15 near Billings, reports KFOR.
The fatal accident took place near County Road 90 shortly before 9:00 p.m.
According to investigators, the man was driving a 2003 GMC pickup truck that was towing a 24-foot bumper pull-style trailer. For reasons still unknown, the vehicle veered off the roadway, prompting the male driver to overcorrect. The maneuver sent the pickup into a broad slide as it entered the eastbound highway, where it was hit by a Ford transit van. The impact of the crash caused the trailer to disconnect from the pickup and run off the roadway. The pickup was traveled off the roadway and overturned into a ditch.
Medics rushed the driver of the GMC to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Of the five children involved in the crash, four were transported to an Oklahoma hospital where they were listed in fair condition.
No further details have been shared at this time. An investigation remains in progress.
