Elderly man killed in solo crash near Rock Creek Rd and River Road

SHAWNEE, OK – A man from Shawnee died on New Year’s Day after his vehicle crashed along a roadway in north-central Pottawatomie County, reports KOCO News 5.
The accident happened around 1:10 p.m. on South Rock Creek Road near River Road, or East West County Road 117, which is on the eastern side of Shawnee.
Police have not shared any details regarding the circumstances of the collision except to say that it involved a 2004 Ford Ranger with two occupants.
An 82-year-old passenger, identified as Jimmy Sellers, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the Ford was not hurt in the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
