Elderly woman claimed in solo crash near Legate Rd, Scott Rd

LOVE CO., OK – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries Tuesday in a single-vehicle collision that happened in northeast Love County, reports OKC Fox 25.
The accident occurred in the afternoon in the area of Legate Road and Scott Road, which is just east of Lake Murray State Park and about 102 miles south of Oklahoma City.
Police say that for unknown reasons, 83-year-old Joanna Charlotte Reed lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway, and ultimately crashed into an embankment.
Reed succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.
A passenger in the the vehicle was unhurt in the collision.
The crash likely caused delays in the area of Legate and Scott while emergency teams gathered evidence and worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
