Elderly woman dead in NW OKC house fire

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman died this afternoon in a house fire on Northwest 43rd Street, in northwest Oklahoma City.
According to KOCO, a fire in the 4100 block of NW 43rd near Tulsa Avenue was reported to emergency officials just after noon.
The woman, who has not yet been identified out of respect for the family, was discovered lying inside the house next to a chair engulfed in flames.
Emergency crews declared the woman dead at the scene of the incident.
According to the family of the elderly woman, the victim had lived in the house for 40 years.
Investigators continue to look into the cause of the blaze, which was contained to a single room within the home.
