OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An EMARK bus driver was charged after causing a crash in the College Park neighborhood that killed one man, News9 said.
The collision occurred off the intersection of West Hefner Road and North Western Avenue last month. It was there that the bus driver, Cameron Cunningham, stopped to pick up some bus passengers. One man, Steven Thomas, was standing at the curb and physically touching the bus.
Thomas wanted to board the bus, but Cunningham denied him bus transportation because he suspected Thomas was impaired.
Cunningham drove off as Thomas still had his hands on the bus. Thomas fell and was struck by the bus, succumbing to his injuries at the scene.
Cunningham initially told his supervisor that Thomas fell on his own accord and declined to mention any serious injuries. He was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Fatality Collision and Second-Degree Manslaughter.
