OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Dozens of first responders worked together to save a group of people who caught at the dam located at Lake Overholser on Sunday afternoon, reports KFOR.
The first responders, around 30 in total, were dispatched to the lake around 12:30 p.m. after receiving a call saying four people were trapped by a current next to the dam.
Of the four trapped, one was able to swim ashore. Three bystanders then attempted to rescue the three people still trapped by the dam, but then they had to be rescued themselves.
A boat was sent to rescue the group and everybody was brought back to shore in roughly 30 minutes.
Some of the rescued swimmers suffered chest pains but nobody was injured enough to be taken to the hospital.
