At least one person was killed in a recent accident involving a semi-tanker vehicle carrying hundreds of gallons of gas near Valliant, Oklahoma earlier this week, an article of News Channel 4 reported on September 19.

Reports said state highway officials responded to the accident, which happened around U.S. 70 and Highway 98. Aside from emergency personnel, help from the crews of the Department of Environmental Quality were necessary after approximately 500 gallons of gasoline from the tanker spilled after falling to its side. Authorities confirmed one person was killed in the mishap, but they did not release the person’s identity. A photo of the crash revealed that a pickup truck sustained significant damages after the accident. Traffic flow in the area was rerouted for several hours as crews worked their way through cleaning the spilled gas.
