Female pedestrian loses life to hit-and-run collision in SW OKC

SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A female pedestrian lost her life to a hit-and-run collision that happened in Southwest Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

The incident happened around 6 a.m., News9 said. According to OKCFOX, the driver was allegedly driving a dark colored vehicle when they struck the female pedestrian in the area of Southwest 59th Street and South Western Avenue.

The driver did not render aid or call 911 and fled the scene prior to the arrival of Oklahoma City Police. The driver then continued driving west.

Police are working to determine what the suspect looked like and are working to find them.

Officials shut down the area for a few hours to accommodate the scene clean-up process.
