Fiery solo crash near Lake Hefner Pkwy and NW Grand Blvd kills 1

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A fatality has been reported in connection to a major accident in northwest Oklahoma City on Thursday, reports KFOR News 4.

The accident happened early in the afternoon in the area of Lake Hefner Parkway and Northwest Grand Boulevard, which is just east of Hefner Park and southeast of Stars and Stripes Park.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a car crashed into a wall. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to catch fire, resulting in fatal injuries for one person. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.

It’s unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the collision.

Officials urged drivers to avoid the area of Lake Hefner Parkway and Grand Boulevard while emergency teams responded to the accident and worked to clear the scene.
