Fiery solo crash near Silverlake Rd and Nowata Pl kills driver

BARTLESVILLE, OK – One person died Tuesday after a single-vehicle crash at an intersection on the southeast side of Bartlesville, reports Fox 23 News. 

The accident happened in the morning in the area of Silverlake Road and Nowata Place, which is just north of Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound driver lost control of their vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed. The car then caught fire after emergency teams worked to extricate the driver.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the name of the deceased.

Motorists likely experienced delays in the area of the crash while crews worked to extinguish the flames and clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
