DURANT, OK. – Four Durant teenagers were killed in a tragic rear-end collision on Sunday night.

According to the Herald Democrat, the collision occurred at the intersection of West Main Street and Radio Road. The teens were in a 2003 Ford Escape SUV and were stopped at a traffic light when a 2010 Ford Tundra collided with them from behind. Eyewitnesses say the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit their SUV.

The SUV the teens were riding in was pushed through the intersection and over the median. The vehicle crossed the eastbound lanes of traffic and fell onto the service road below, traveling nearly 200 feet from the site of impact.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were airlifted to Texas hospitals where they died on Monday. Authorities have identified the victims as Hunter Ford, Kaleb Foster, Fernando Flores, and Jack Sarver.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol as Bradley Shawn Pittman, 42, of Atoka. Authorities believe that Pittman may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash since investigators detected alcohol on him during their initial investigation. They are currently waiting on the results of a toxicology report.

If you have any information about this accident or of Mr. Pittman’s whereabouts before the event, contact the Durant Police Department at (580) 924-3737.
