CANADIAN CO., OK – The driver of a pickup died Tuesday after colliding with an 18-wheeler near the county line dividing Canadian and Kingfisher Counties, reports KOCO News 5.

Crews responded to the crash around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Reno Road and 248th Street Northwest, which is just west of Okarche.

The investigation indicates that the southbound Chevy Silverado ran a stop sign and struck a semi in the intersection. The collision caused the 18-wheeler to overturn.

The driver of the Chevy, identified as 25-year-old Dereck Goodmanson, died after transport to a local hospital.

Medics transported the truck driver to the hospital with unspecified injuries. He has since been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
