Hit-and-run driver strikes, kills pedestrian near Tulsa country club

TULSA, OK – A 53-year-old male pedestrian died on Saturday after a driver struck him on a Tulsa sidewalk before leaving the scene, reports News Channel 8 Tulsa.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Lewis Avenue and East 61st Street, which is just west of the Southern Hills Country Club.
The investigation thus far indicates that the driver of the vehicle veered off of the roadway and crashed into a pedestrian, who died at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified the victim as Michael Cobb.
It is unknown if the driver, identified as Marlon Evans, sustained injuries in the crash. Police found Evans and arrested him on multiple charges, including first-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
