OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Emergency teams responded to an injury crash involving an 18-wheeler and at least two other vehicles Friday morning in Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.
The accident happened shortly before 6 a.m. on the westbound side of I-40 at I-35 northbound, just west of Eagle Lake Park.
Police haven’t disclosed the circumstances of the accident. They say the collision caused a semi to jackknife, while two other vehicles sustained heavy damage.
While an ambulance reported to the scene, it’s unclear how many people were hurt and if they required hospitalization.
Officials closed the westbound side of I-40 in the area of the crash while crews assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
Wet road conditions may have been a factor in the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
