Injuries reported in collision involving semi at I-44 NB near I-40

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Emergency teams reported to a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck along the interstate in central Oklahoma City on Thursday.
According to News on 9, the incident happened sometime before 3:45 p.m. on the northbound side of I-44 near I-40, which is just south of Oklahoma State University Oklahoma City.
It’s not yet clear what caused the crash, but police say it involved a car and an 18-wheeler carrying cardboard. The collision caused the truck to jackknife along the interstate.
One person sustained injuries in the crash. There’s no word yet on whether they required hospitalization.
Officials asked drivers to avoid the area while crews worked at the scene.
