CREEK CO., OK – A fiery two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck killed one person Sunday in east-central Creek County, reports Fox 23 News.

The accident happened on the eastbound side of the Turner Turnpike, or I-44, just west of Kellyville. This is about 22 miles southwest of Tulsa.

Police say that wet roads caused an eastbound Jeep to hydroplane on the interstate. The vehicle then crashed into an 18-wheeler, left the interstate, and hit a wall. The impact of the crash caused both the Jeep and the semi to ignite.

Authorities declared the driver of the Jeep deceased at the scene of the accident. They’ve not yet released the victim’s name to the public.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
