OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department were called to a large fire at an apartment complex near downtown Oklahoma City Saturday evening.
According to KFOR, the three-alarm fire was reported just before 8:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Estates Apartments near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Lyrewood Lane.
Upon their arrival on the scene, firefighters believed the flames were too strong and they were not able to enter the building to scan for people who had been trapped.
Once the blaze was under control, officials did a rescue sweep of the building. Luckily no people were injured as a result of the fire. Although, one pet had died in the blaze.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing as of Tuesday evening.
