OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Fire Authorities in Oklahoma City are investigating the cause of a late-night blaze at an abandoned church southeast of downtown Sunday night.
According to KFOR, the fire was reported at about 10:00 p.m. near the intersection of Southeast 59th Street and Eastern Avenue. The fire began on the second floor of the church, making extinguishing the blaze a challenge.
Firefighters were forced to cut holes into the roof of the building allowing the smoke to bellow out before proceeding. The two-alarm fire has since been extinguished with no injuries reported as a result.
