Major crash at I-35NB and Wilshire in NE OKC delays traffic

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police are investigating a major crash that happened early Friday along the interstate in northeast Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.

The accident occurred just prior to 3:30 a.m. on the northbound side of I-35 near East Wilshire Boulevard. This is north of the I-44 junction and south of Harcros Chemicals.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the collision. It’s unclear if other vehicles were involved or if anyone required hospitalization.

Video footage taken at the scene shows a white SUV with extensive damage loaded onto a tow truck.

Officials closed the northbound side of the interstate in the area of the crash until around 4:30 a.m. while emergency crews worked at the scene.
