Man, 34, killed in head-on crash near Thackerville

NEAR THACKERVILLE, OK – A 34-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash that occurred on U.S. 77 Sunday, KTEN reports.
The crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. and involved three vehicles. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the events unraveled when a 23-year-old woman driving a vehicle on the highway’s northbound lanes, tried to overtake a tractor-trailer in front of her.
The 23-year-old Kyra Shelton, went into the opposite lanes and crashed head-on into a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, 34-year-old Sydney Frosch from Marietta, died from his injuries at the scene.
Frosh’s passenger and Shelton were left with unspecified injuries.
The truck driver was unharmed.
OHP shut down the lanes for several hours before reopening.
