ARDMORE, OK – A 35-year-old man was killed as a result of a pursuit that ended in a crash in the area of Interstate 35 and Holiday Drive on Saturday, on Valentine’s Day.
The incident unfolded when a Love County deputy tried to pull over the 35-year-old man, who was driving, according to KTEN.
The driver, later identified as Candelario Salinas, complied. There, a deputy discovered an open container of alcohol in Salinas’ vehicle and asked that he step out of the vehicle.
Salinas refused and drove away, which prompted a pursuit. Salinas was said to have driven over 120 mph and turned his headlights off before crashing his vehicle.
Salinas did not wear a seatbelt and was thrown from his vehicle, and died a short time later.
