Man, 37, dies after UTV overturns near Nowata

NEAR NOWATA, OK – A 37-year-old man from South Coffeyville died after his UTV crashed and overturned near Nowata on Monday, according to KSN 16.
The rollover collision occurred at 6:45 p.m. The 37-year-old man, later identified as Jared T. Zellmer, was driving his 2021 CAN-AM Maverick UTV on County Road NS 416 when it crashed and overturned.
Zellmer was partially ejected and pinned underneath the UTV.
Fire crews did not say if Zellmer was able to free himself from the UTV or if they had to help them. Nevertheless, EMS workers hurried him to Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries at 7:18 p.m.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol, who were among the first responders, confirmed Zellmer’s passenger was uninjured.
OHP has not provided additional commentary and is working to determine exactly how the crash unfolded.
