Man injured after motorcycle collides with tree

An 18 year-old man was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas after suffering serious injuries when his motorcycle collided with a tree in Mead. According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the teenager was speeding on Ranchette Road when he lost control on a curve last night.

Troopers say the cause of the accident was unsafe speed. The motorcyclist could have prevented extensive injuries if he was wearing a helmet. He is currently in stable condition with head and abdominal injuries.

This is the second motorcycle accident this week. A 29 year-old man was seriously injured Monday night after his motorcycle hit a car Highway 69-75.
