Man killed, hit-and-run suspect arrested after crash in Healdton

HEALDTON, OK – A 25-year-old man was killed and a hit-and-run suspect was arrested following a crash that happened in Healdton on Saturday.
According to KTEN, the hit-and-run suspect was driving his vehicle when he ran over a male pedestrian at the intersection of South 5th Street and Gulf Street.
Police and ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene around 1 a.m. EMS crews rushed the pedestrian to Healdton Mercy Hospital, where he later died. He has since been identified as Chad Klinger.
Some time later, police detained and arrested the hit-and-run suspect. He has since been identified as Dakota Morin, 18, from Fort Stockton, Texas.
Morin is charged with leaving the scene of a collision and faces an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
