Man killed in head-on collision along US-169 near Watova

ROGERS CO., OK – A 39-year-old man died early Saturday in a wrong-way collision along the highway in northwest Rogers County, reports KTUL News Channel 8.
The accident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on US-169 near East 300 Road, which is between Watova and Talala and about 40 miles northeast of Tulsa.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound vehicle entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head on with a northbound truck. The impact of the crash ejected the driver of the southbound vehicle, killing him at the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as Wesston W. Legrand.
The driver of the truck, identified as 59-year-old Petros A. Sargsyan, also sustained injuries. It’s unclear if Sargsyan required hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
