Man killed in head-on crash along US-59 at Brazil Loop in Shady Point

SHADY POINT, OK – A 74-year-old man died Tuesday in a wrong-way crash along the highway in north-central Le Flore County, reports KNWA Fox 24.

The accident happened around 5:32 p.m. on US-59 at Brazil Creek Loop. This is on the far northern outskirts of Shady Point, about 120 miles southeast of Tulsa.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Colorado entered the northbound lanes of the highway and collided head-on with a northbound 2022 Dodge Ram 1500.

The driver of the Chevy, identified as Terry Grizzle, died at the scene after being pinned under his pickup truck.

Medics airlifted the other driver to a Tulsa hospital with serious injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
