Man struck, killed after running into traffic on Lake Hefner Pkwy near NW Expy

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man in his 40s died Tuesday night after several vehicles struck him along Lake Hefner Parkway in northwest Oklahoma City, reports KFOR News 4.
Emergency teams responded to the southbound side of Lake Hefner Parkway near the Northwest Expressway sometime before 9 p.m. after reports of a pedestrian crash.
Police say that the victim exited his vehicle after experiencing a mental health episode and ran into traffic on Lake Hefner Parkway. Several vehicles struck the victim, who died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name to the public.
Five drivers stopped to render aid and speak with police.
Officials blocked off the southbound side of Lake Hefner Parkway while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
