Man’s life claimed in collision near Sallisaw

SALLISAW, OK – A man’s life was claimed in a collision on Interstate 40 near Sallisaw, 5NewsOnline reports.
The incident unfolded before 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday The driver of a commercial vehicle, identified as Paul Victor Kelly, from Bristow, was traveling on an eastbound outside lane.
Kelly tried to merge onto an inside lane. When he saw a driver traveling on that inside lane, he swerved to try to avoid hitting it.
As Kelly tried to avoid a collision, that’s when he crashed into a tree. Kelly died from his injuries a short time later. His family has been notified.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol did not say if they cited the other driver.
