Metal gate strikes, seriously injures officer in Edmond parking lot

EDMOND, OK – A School Resource Officer for Oklahoma Christian School was seriously injured Friday night when a gate struck him in a parking lot, reports KFOR News.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in an Edmond parking lot located in the area of East Frontage Rd and East 2nd Street, which is just northwest of the school.
It’s still unclear how the accident happened but police say a metal gate broke the windshield of the officer’s car and hit him on his neck and shoulders.
Medics transported the officer, identified as Deputy Jeremy McCain, to the hospital with critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
