A mother was killed and her 2-year-old child was injured after a car crash, a January 2 article of News On 6 reported.
19-year-old Paige Cohen was driving her SUV with her child when it went off the road and collided into a ditch around 11 PM, January 1. It was near West 81st Street and New Sapulpa Road when it caught on fire. A bystander was able to rescue the child. The 2-year-old sustained broken bones but is expected to recover. However, he wasn’t able to help Cohen as she was pinned. According to Captain Glenn Coffey of Sapulpa PD, they weren’t sure what caused the driver to lose control as it only veered slowly off the edge of the road. Officers further reported that they’re reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses.
