LOGAN COUNTY, OK — A man was hospitalized late Friday afternoon after his motorcycle was struck by another vehicle in south Guthrie, according to Guthrie News Page.
Guthrie Police said the accident occurred at the intersection of South Division Street and South Sooner Road.
An early investigation shows the motorcyclist was trying to turn onto Division Street from Sooner Road when a southbound vehicle struck his bike’s back wheel.
The motorcyclist, who was thrown onto the roadway, suffered road rash and an injury to his shoulder. He was transported to OU Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation. Officials noted he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Police said the driver of the striking vehicle had misread the traffic light while his windshield wipers were activated. It was unclear whether any charges were expected to be filed.
All northbound traffic was diverted during the response and investigation.
