Murder Charges in Nowata County Car Crash

A man is facing three counts of second degree murder following a suspected DUI crash in Oklahoma on May 9.

45 year-old Charles David Strong was traveling on Highway 169 in the Nowata County area shortly before 8:30 p.m. on May 9 when he narrowly missed colliding with a semi-truck on the highway. Confusion on the roadway led to 15 year-old Kyler Blagg, driving with 44 year-old Amy Blagg, to over correct in an attempt to avoid an accident.

Kyler’s vehicle struck another car driven by 70 year-old Alfred Hobbs. All parties involved were trapped inside their vehicles for a period of time. Kyler and Amy Blaggs died shortly after the accident. Four weeks later Hobbs died of complications of injuries sustained in the crash.

Strong is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond.
