Officials battle fire near Oklahoma City University

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to the call of a fire near downtown late Sunday afternoon.
According to News 9, the fire erupted at a home within a residential neighborhood near the intersection of Northwest 23rd Street and North Pennsylvania Avenue sometime before 5:00 p.m.
Officials believe a pile of garbage in the backyard of the home somehow caught fire causing the blaze to spread. Luckily, no one was in the home at the time.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire shortly after their arrival on the scene. Details regarding how much damage the home sustained as a result have not yet been released.
