OHP closes Turner Turnpike East in OKC due to tractor-trailer crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol and transportation crews had to close the eastbound Turner Turnpike on Thursday due to a tractor-trailer rollover crash.

OHP told News9 that the closures started at 1:15 p.m. and by 2 p.m., the area was still shut down. The tractor-trailer had overturned after colliding with another big rig. The force of the collision resulted in some sustained injuries.

Troopers, however, did not specify the extent of those injuries. Crews and troopers used a front-end loader to remove the overturned truck from the center lanes onto the ditch.

The exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
