Oklahoma City doctor injured by Botox

A doctor from Oklahoma City recently went to court after suffering from botulism poisoning as a result of botox injections.

Last month, the maker of the anti-wrinkle drug Allergan Inc. was found negligent by the jury and awarded the doctor a total of $15 million.

Symptoms including severe pain and weakness began for the doctor after receiving 50 injections in 2006, and subsequently forced her to have to sell her practice and resign from her position as medical director at the Lakesides Women’s Hospital.

While the product’s box did have symptoms listed, it did not list botulism in 2006 when she received the injections.  Allergen continues to believe that their product does not cause botulism.
