Oklahoma City Police Officer Crashes Along Interstate

Posted on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 at 2:49 pm

An officer with the Oklahoma City Police Department sustained minor injuries when his car ran off the road Friday morning.

According to officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department, the officer says his vehicle became airborne after he hydroplaned on an interstate Friday. The officer lost control of his vehicle, careened off the left side of the roadway and down a grassy hill, crashing into a chain-link fence during morning rush hour off Interstate 44 and Interstate 240.

The officer walked away from the accident, and sustained only minor injuries in the crash. He said the roads were slick from morning rain. The crash did not cause a traffic backup. The squad car sustained minor damage.
