A man was killed in an Oklahoma trucking accident early Tuesday morning.

According to officials with the Oklahoma State Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on the Turner Turnpike near mile marker 209. Police say the driver of a semi-truck lost veered off the roadway for an unknown reason, traveling about three hundred feet before coming to rest in a ditch. Troopers say it is unclear if the driver died in the accident or if something happened prior to the crash.

Authorities say the Turnpike was closed for about four hours while response crews worked to clean up the site and remove the truck from the scene. Motorists traveling the turnpike from Tulsa to Oklahoma City were rerouted.

The name of the victim has not been released.
