One person dies after car crashes into residential pool in NW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police say a medical episode may have caused a driver to crash into a swimming pool on Monday in Northwest Oklahoma City.
According to News 9, the incident happened in the evening in the area of West Hefner Road and Northwest 109th Street, which is just south of Warwick Crossing Shopping Center.
Officials say that the victim drove over a parking lot curb before crashing through a fence and driving into a residential swimming pool.
Rescue crews extricated the driver through the sunroof of the vehicle. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Medics transported the victim to the hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
A full investigation is underway.
