Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in OKC

On January 10, a pedestrian died of personal injuries in Oklahoma City after he was struck by a vehicle, and the driver involved is facing multiple charges after authorities apprehended him, an article of KOCO 5 News reported.
According to reports, authorities were called around 3:30 a.m. to respond to a pedestrian accident at the intersection of South MacArthur Boulevard and West Reno Avenue. Arlee Williamson Jr., 60, was pushing a shopping cart at the time, when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Alphaeus Bates. Williamson succumbed to his injuries a little later while being treated at a local hospital. Bates, on the other hand, was apprehended by authorities. Aside from the first-degree manslaughter charge filed against him, other charges were also filed against Bates for failing to secure a valid license and proof of insurance for his vehicle.
