OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A car drove into a pond following a collision near Northeast 23rd St and Sooner Rd Monday, KFOR reports.

The initial wreck occurred around 11:30 a.m. Following that incident, one of the vehicles involved continued north from the crash site and went into a body of water.

The car was occupied by three people when it submerged. Two of the people in the vehicle managed to escape through the car’s sunroof.

A dive team with the Oklahoma City Fire Department located the vehicle submerged under 30 ft of water. They extricated the third occupant from the backseat of the car and then performed CPR on them once they were brought to shore.

Crews transported all three occupants to an area hospital. The victim who was in the backseat died there.
